lyrics
The world trembles in awe before my feet
A savant in every trait
Yet my past is of humility
No wealth to our name, and shunned by society
Like a phoenix from the ashes I rose above and deemed my place
Like a diamond in the rough, waiting to shine, waiting to glow in all my splendor
You may ask yourself, how do I shine so bright
Im not to blame for this gift I have
And I say how dare you
How dare you, To question me
Destined to surpass all of you
My path paved in gold, oh the emeralds
I might bleed unto you if you bow deep enough
For you know what I say is true
Like a phoenix from the ashes I rose above and deemed my place
Like a diamond in the rough, waiting to shine, waiting to glow in all my splendor
Once I bore the cross for you, at a time of despair
I took your sins, and made them my own
Why do you worship a relic of me?
When im standing here before you
Long have I searched for a father, but in vain.
Who could create a man like me, but god?
When you thought all hope is gone, I rose from beyond
I rose from beyond

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

I dig this album so much, definitely a keeper. Subtly and masterfully mixing death metal subgenres, backed with an over the top production. They're true professionals. Can't wait for their next release! doive
Produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou, the metal band's fourth LP channels tragic, transcendental themes into fierce progressive sludge metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2024

The album description mentions an “emotional apex.” That’s really the difference between Stare and the band’s previous albums. Ulcerate was always supremely technically proficient. I just didn’t care all that much. Their growth has come from making music you will feel. Metallurgical Fire
